The women of Riversgate Church work together on many fronts to encourage each other and bless many in our community. Throughout the year there are a number of events that are designed to encourage, teach, serve and equip women, mothers and wives to experience God's grace and power! Shari Rainka has volunteered to be the leader of this group for 2016. Leaders are responsible for mobilizing volunteers, not making sure everything happens!! If there is an event, or idea that you would like to help implement for the benefit of the women of Riversgate or our greater community, please let Shari know so we can mobilize the necessary resources to make it happen!
"Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn" (Romans 12:15)
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. " (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)
What: A space set aside for women to seek connection, and offer connection, through being transparent with one another-- seeking to rejoice with those who rejoicing and mourn with those who are mourning.
Who: All who are wanting their inside to match their outside. All who value transparency and authenticity and desire to truly connect with others.
Where: Brian and Shari Rainka's home
Why: To be filled up by both giving and receiving. To remind ourselves and others that we are not alone, not with words but with the intentional act of walking beside one another through specific life seasons. To BE His comforting hands, to BE His ever-faithful presence.
Our Maker created us to be relational beings, to not only desire but actually need one another while traversing life's valleys and when celebrating on mountain tops. Let's celebrate beauty of transparency, the value of being vulnerable with one another in the spirit of allowing The Father to use your circumstances to bless others.
No one should navigate through a valley alone. And no one should be alone on a mountain top without others celebrating their victory.
We desire the deep communion with God and with others that is described in Romans to be a way of life and not merely an occasional appointment. To start on the road to that goal we are beginning Romans Nights, times where the sole purpose is to listen, not attempt to fix, but truly listen to one another and soak in those seasons where valleys are being traversed and mountain tops are being reached. Would you consider sharing your days' highs and lows with our body? Would you consider offering those seasons where you have been sifted and changed to the Lord to be used to bless others who are currently being sifted? Sisters, we are starting with you. Each month we will gather again to share life. REAL life. Romans Nights... come to connect.
